Environmental Impact Statement

Along with the HCP, an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was developed by the Service – and cooperating agencies including the Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, U.S. Forest Service and U.S. National Park Service – and incorporates comments received from 13 public scoping meetings and the full public review phase required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

The EIS evaluates the impacts related to the actions taken by the Service in the issuance of an Incidental Take Permit (ITP) and the implementation of the HCP. All comments received from the public review phase were reviewed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and appropriate evaluation of all impacts is included in the EIS.
