2010 Sustainability Report Performance Highlights

Customer-Focused Energy Solutions
NiSource invested more than $900 million in capital improvements, ensuring the safety, reliability and operational efficiency of the energy delivery infrastructure its customers rely on.

Environmental Stewardship
NiSource exceeded its carbon intensity reduction target by investing in infrastructure and innovation of operations. At the end of 2010, its greenhouse gas intensity had been reduced by more than 8 percent from 2001. The company's goal was a 7 percent reduction by 2012.

Building Strong Stable Communities
NiSource companies provided a record level of more than $6.8 million in charitable donations to local, regional and national organizations in 2010.

The 2010 report was produced using the Global Reporting Initiative G3 Reporting Guidelines. NiSource self declares—supported with third-party assurance from CH2M HILL—that this report meets the requirements of GRI Application Level B+.
