Michael Luhrs is Executive Vice President, Technology, Customer and Chief Commercial Officer for NiSource Inc. and a member of the executive leadership team. He leads a broad portfolio, overseeing technology, cybersecurity and physical security, economic development, data center activities, customer operations and transformation, generation development and energy supply and optimization. His role is focused on strategic execution, value creation and operational excellence. 

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
With more than 25 years of leadership experience across strategy, finance, operations, business development and customer-focused energy solutions, Luhrs brings deep industry expertise and a track record of leadership across major energy companies. He joined NiSource from Alliant Energy, where he served as Senior Vice President of Customer Experience and Strategy. Prior to that, he held multiple executive roles at Duke Energy, including Vice President of Integrated Grid Strategy and Solutions, Vice President of Market Strategy and Solutions, and Vice President of Retail Programs. In these executive roles, Luhrs led large, complex organizations, regulated and non-regulated business and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. Earlier in his career, he held senior finance and business excellence roles supporting nuclear, fossil, transmission, distribution, resource planning, customer operations, driving improved financial discipline, operational performance, generation transitions and cost reductions.
