Michael Luhrs serves as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Risk and Chief Commercial Officer for NiSource Inc. He oversees economic development, strategy and risk management, mergers and acquisitions, sustainability, corporate insurance, customer experience, data and analytics, cyber and physical security, and business transformation.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Luhrs joins NiSource from Alliant Energy, where he served as Senior Vice President of Customer Experience and Strategy, leading corporate strategy, communications, community affairs, and supply chain operations. He also previously served as Vice President of Integrated Grid Strategy and Solutions and Vice President of Market Strategy and Solutions at Duke Energy. Luhrs's duties included incorporating emerging technologies to optimize energy efficiency and promote corporate growth and investment.

Luhrs has held numerous positions with increasing responsibilities in his over 25 years of experience in the energy industry. At Duke Energy, he held additional positions as Vice President of Retail Programs, General Manager roles in Business Excellence and Energy Supply & Finance, and Director of Nuclear Generation Finance. Prior to these roles, Luhrs spent nearly 14 years at Progress Energy, serving in positions from coordinator to general manager.
