Each year, the first Wednesday in October is recognized nationally as Energy Efficiency Day. With the beginning of fall here, NiSource's energy efficiency programs provide opportunities for customers to save energy and money and start preparing their homes and businesses for the winter season.
In 2023, nearly 600,000 customers participated in NiSource's programs for energy efficiency upgrades, home checkups and weatherization services, which together saved customers more than $7 million. In addition to providing savings, energy efficiency also helps reduce emissions and conserve natural resources as we work toward a sustainable energy future.
