I am excited to usher in Hispanic Heritage Month, a celebration of the culture and achievements of the 62.1 million Hispanics living in the U.S. today. Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to come together and learn more about Latin culture, as well as the people that makeup NiSource and the communities we serve. 

I am proud to count our Hispanic employees among our leaders and problem solvers in keeping our commitment to providing clean and reliable energy to our customers. They also play a critical role in building relationships within Spanish-speaking communities, where many of our Hispanic employees are involved in community and educational outreach efforts. In Indiana, for example, members of our Hispanic employee resource group have mentored hundreds of high school students through the Latino Counts program and have recently started to raise donations in support of the group’s scholarship program. Through interactions like these, our Hispanic employees are creating important community connections and inspiring a new generation of energy professionals.
